Dearest Chloe-
Well I wrote about our first week experience at preschool but things are not getting any better. You love to go to school and play with your “teachers and friends” but only if mommy stays in the room. We have tried having mommy stay part of the day but you are still struggling when mommy goes to leave. So the new normal is mommy has become a full-time volunteer in the classroom. I am hoping that once you get to really know your teachers and friends that I will actually be allowed to go and you will be happy have some personal space. Wishful thinking?
At school you love the outdoor play area still demanding to go outside even in the rain. You also love to paint! Don’t get any ideas, paint is just too much mess for your mommy to handle in our house.
You are really loving the two toys we picked out for your birthday. The magnets are great for telling me your letters and spelling out the words mommy puts together for you, but really your Doctor bag is the cutest thing ever. Sometime soon I hope you make daddy the patient so I can get some pictures. I must admit it is SUPER cute when you tell me to get my camera, take me upstairs, get in the “good light” and then ask for a picture of you playing doctor. You are definitely a photographer’s child.
You also love that backpack grandma bought you and want to take it everywhere, even on days when we are NOT going to school. We can TOTALLY leave the backpack at home when we go get chicken. It will still be there when we get back home, promise. You would still eat peanut butter sandwiches, wear your purple dress, and watch Curious George all day if we let you. I do like our compromise of hanging the purple dress up before we leave the house so that we can wear something else when we go bye-bye in the car. Finally I am looking forward to the rain stopping because baseball in the house is just a wee-bit dangerous 😉
Love you always,
Mommy
