“If you have even an inkling of an interest in storytelling/documentary photography. This is THE workshop to take. I’ve actually taken the workshop twice. Yes, twice. That’s how good it is. Colie packs so much information (and so much of herself) into the course- much more than any other photography workshop I’ve ever taken. When I took the workshop for the first time, I had a growing interest in photojournalism, particularly as it pertained to shooting my own family. I left that workshop with not only an understanding of the fundamentals of storytelling photography, but also in-depth knowledge of my own personal motivations, strengths, and a path to grow.
Since then, I’ve launched my own photography business specializing in documentary family photography. As luck would have it, Colie now offers a slightly different version of the workshop that focuses on the business of storytelling photography. And let me tell you, she does not spare any information. I can’t even begin to articulate how much I learned about the business part of this work. In this workshop, Colie covers everything from how to effective present work to clients and prospective clients, to marketing, to workflow and structure. And the information doesn’t just come in the form of PDFs. Colie makes herself available for questions seemingly round the clock. I don’t know where she gets the energy from, but I am always in awe of her dedication and generosity with the experience and knowledge she’s amassed.
It really is a must-do workshop. You will not regret it for a second.” Oakland Documentary Family Photographer Rhea Bailey of Halona Photography
