Are you in the right place?
You are if you can say YES to any of the following.
You have or are in the process of building up a family photography business.
You would love to photograph families where they live or in an authentic, non-posed fashion.
You are struggling to build a client base, automate or simplify your business practices, or run a profitable business.
You are interested in offering family films to your clients.
What does that mean in practice?
I don't give advice unless I am certain of the outcome. So take my advice, or don't, but 9 times out of 10 you will come back and say I was right.
I still have actual clients. My business advice is not theoretical, it's based in actual client experience that is current. Photographer first, educator second.
I won't try to sell you on something you don't need. If I think you only need a 1-hour strategy call to push you in the right direction, that's what I will recommend. If I don't think you are in a place to truly benefit from my 1:1 mentoring or group coaching, I promise to tell you that.
Still here? Okay keep scrolling.
I am going to be honest, those are just words that other photographers use when they do Google searches. None of my actual clients care about those words, so I do whatever it takes to get the job done. I tell stories by documenting parenthood.
If you feel the need to place me in a box I lean documentary, family photojournalism if you will, but my educational resources cover family storytelling across both styles. Last thing I will say, when I think of the phrase 'lifestyle family photographer' I think of people who take pretty pictures. My pictures are real, sometimes they are pretty. Clients hire me for the pictures.
do we need to chat about this some more?
This is for those ready for the crash course in building a family photography business or family filmmaking. A 6-hour day customized for you hitting all your pain points in one session so you can hit the ground running. Most mentorships include a joint session where we co-shoot a family session and then edit photos or create a film immediately after.
Pair this with a Day in the Life session for YOUR family and we'll make it a Weekend with Colie.
A 6-month group mentorship focused on balancing the roles of businesswoman and artist. This is a family photography education experience designed to push you to the next level with your business and give you access to an accountability group with the same goals. Best suited for those that want a solid online program with an in-person component.
This seems like a great idea until COVID-19 fucks with the retreat plan. yes, I'm bitter. Stay tuned (and optimistic) about 2021.
