Denver Newborn Photographer. Arlo is my proclaimed favorite of the Maltese Clan. Maybe it’s because I get a little teary-eyed when he calls me “Macole”. He is also ready to snuggle and chat from the moment I arrive. We are almost birthday twins, so I am sure that is part of it. This year it was technically July 28 in the states and July 29 here in Guam at the same “time”, so we did share our birthday this year.
On the plane, I thought about how exciting it would be to see Arlo as a new big brother. Would he have trouble being the newly minted middle child? Or perhaps mourn the loss of his baby chair (sitting on mommy’s belly), but he has embraced it. He may have hoped for a baby brother but he is thrilled about his new baby sister. He still forgets the baby’s name (Yara) and calls her “he”, but he asks to hold her multiple times a day.
The day before his sister arrived Arlo had a project due in school about his family. It seems he will need to update that with a new family picture. Speaking of school, he had his first school picture day the day after Yara was born. I am sure he nailed it with his button-down shirt and adorable smile.
I head home today to see my own family that I have missed for the last 10 days, but I am so grateful Yara decided to hang out in Kayla’s belly until I arrived. Just in case you are wondering, he beat me at Candy Land. Until next time…
