The first week of May was an exciting one for this Boulder Newborn Photographer. While both of my April babies were born within hours of each other at Avista Adventist Hospital and Rose Medical Center respectively, their in-home newborn sessions took place just a few days apart in May. I swear I have a little more pep in my step while I am waiting for babies to be born!

Just in case you need a reminder, here are a few of the reasons why you might opt for an in-home newborn session instead of a birth or Fresh 48 in the hospital.

1. Time to recover
2. Flexibility in scheduling
3. Everybody gets to be IN the pictures
4. Your home is the perfect backdrop for photos
5. Let older siblings adjust (not applicable to these 1st-time parents)
6. Four-legged siblings are invited too

 

When I first walked into the nursery, I found Simone sleeping as pictured below and dad was finishing up putting those decals on the walls with a hair dryer.  Aren’t those AMAZING???  They wanted something gender neutral and awesome, I think they accomplished both!  The session itself was awesome and calm, just like most in-home newborn sessions with 1st-time parents are.  I can’t wait to visit again and watch Simone as she grows.  Stay tuned.
