It’s really hard to know what portion of the ideas I present during a lifestyle family photography workshop or mentorship the participants will find most helpful, but it is my sincere wish they recognize I am not a *just* button pusher.
When I meet my clients for the first time I don’t always know that they will turn into a forever family. Here I am at session nine with these amazing humans and this time they let me bring an entourage of 5 additional photographers to watch me work. Listen, my sessions don’t typically involve hockey, hammocks, and motorcycles all at the same time, but a picture of them above the mantle on their wedding day kicking around a soccer ball in their formal attire sets the tone. I think it was during the in-home newborn session that I put my camera down and played soccer with Presley around the living just because.
These type of blog posts about my favorite families tend be a ramble, mostly because I am crying a bit while I type, but today I am trying to kill time until my next baby from another forever family arrives today. I really want to shower and head to the hospital, so this is me showing great restraint. I am always excited to meet all the babies, but with these families I have photographed for almost my entire career as a photographer, I get a little weepy. So instead I am sitting here looking at pictures of Presley and Bohden from the beginning. I’m not crying, YOU are crying.
By the way, that mermaid Presley drew is sitting on my fridge until I frame it for my desk.
Also, I totally bought that dress for Chloe.
Last, that picture of me is not a selfie (LOL) and was taken by Sabrina Gebhardt Photography
Contact me to start the conversation and we can consider it a first date.
