Dearest Chloe-
The other morning we sat in the bed and read Are You My Mother? for the umpteenth time. It’s a special book for mommy as it is the first book I read on my own. I beg and plead with you to be careful with this copy because it is MY book from when I was little. It was Mother’s day this month. While I think it is awesome and amazing to be your mother everyday ,I admit I can’t wait until you are old enough to understand the holiday and make me a present.
Last month I left you with daddy for all of 36 hours to go to Texas and celebrate your Aunt Jackie becoming a mommy at her baby shower. She just gave birth to your new cousin on Monday, a baby girl. I can’t wait for you two to meet. Think of the pictures 😉 Then we went to Houston with daddy and saw Auntie Bridget get her Masters of Public Health. I can’t wait until you are big enough to go stay with Auntie Bridget on your own. Think of the fun you will have and how much she will spoil you. We met a new friend at the graduation and decided to have a playdate at Chuck E Cheese the next day while we were still there. You need a little more work on your social skills. When you have a playdate you actually need to play WITH your friends.
I did your class pictures at the beginning of the month. You actually cried and hid under a table so your class picture this year will be one to remember and mock you for later in life. Yesterday was your last day of school. You don’t really understand that and you are already asking me if you would go to school and see teachers and friends tomorrow. Mommy needs to figure out what your summer plans are ASAP. There will need to be a lot of playdates to make it to August with my sanity intact. Well playdates and coffee, maybe even a combination of those together would be best. We also need a girls’ trip, just you and me for a few days. #adventuresofcolieandchloe
Here’s to hoping we survive the next three months!
Love you always,
Mommy
