Denver Family Films. Who remembers last summer when Kayla came to visit and filmed my family? This Spring I traveled across the Atlantic to visit Kayla and her crew, with Chloe in tow.  You can see a few personal images with her in them from May’s 10 on 10. It was exactly what you would imagine, cameras everywhere, Silas and Chloe even got in on the action with a few Fuji cameras.

Let me just be upfront, this just might be the hardest film I have ever made. First, I took an obscene amount of clips over the week I was at Kayla’s house. I mean I can’t even bring myself to include the number here because it’s so big it’s embarrassing.  Second, making a film for your BFF is never-wracking because what if they don’t like it. Third, directly related to the previous point, there are no do-overs for this session.  I mean I guess I could hop a plane to travel almost 16 hours back to her house but I have no idea when I could find the time AND it took me weeks to adjust back to this time zone again. Yeah, that’s not happening again anytime soon.

But the most impressive part of this film is what you don’t see, Chloe.  In the middle of the night, well technically it was morning here in Denver, I had the bright idea to film bits of their Dutch Life over the course of my entire visit, instead of the typical 2 hour session we had planned.  Please remind me never to do that again. So while you watch Volume I just remember in most of these clips Chloe is lurking just outside the frame.  In some she is screaming at me that SHE wants to be in the film too. Yes, this film required some creative assembly. So take a peek and let me know what you think. Don’t go too far because Volume II and some photos will be posted as soon as I pick a song.
