Seeing how my daughter is obsessed with Sesame Street and she can name several of the characters on the program, it is only fitting we took her there for a visit for her 2nd birthday.
We previously took her to DisneyLand at 17 months, but this was an entirely different experience.
First we got to the park for our 8:45 breakfast to have breakfast with Abby and Cookie Monster. I debated long and hard about whether to do Elmo and Friends or Abby Cadabby and Cookie Monster. I went with Abby & Cookie Monster because Abby was the first character she said and she LOVES her, LOVES. I was very surprised when we got there and she virtually wanted nothing to do with Abby Cadabby.
You know who she WAS obsessed with???
Errrr NIE (this is how she emphasizes it). At home for awhile I had to fast forward through the Bert & Ernie segment because she would cry and scream at the TV. However she can say Ernie’s name and this breakfast helped me put it together. She is TERRIFIED of Bert but loves Ernie.
I did get a few where she is smiling the second time she saw Bert but initially I was holding her and she was SCREAMING at Bert. Oh and she was amused by Big Bird and Cookie Monster as well. It’s a good thing that Bert & Ernie were at this one.
But she just kept going back to Ernie for hugs.
Verdict on the breakfast. I barely ate, my daughter ate nothing, and my husband was unimpressed with the food. I would do it again so she could interact with the characters but keep in mind you are not paying for the food!
Next she had a little fun in the splash fountain FULLY DRESSED. ::sigh::
Next we walked around and took in a few shows. First was Elmo Rocks. Why was my daughter the only one that figured out how to run on stage. She tried the entire second half of the show to get up there.
Then we saw the Let’s be friends show. My daughter was really amused at this one but angry she had to stay in her seat. We did see this one again on day 2.
*** Thank you to the park employee that took this picture!
Throughout the day we rode a few rides. They had a bouncing mat and a playground but she wasn’t interested in either.
